Raíces (“roots”) is a traceable, evolving blend sourced from smallholder farmers in Huehuetenango who pair exceptional coffee production with long-term stewardship. This offering celebrates producers who invest deeply in soil health, community resilience, and shared knowledge creating the conditions for lasting growth.
This years Raíces blend features coffees from: José Bernabé Martínez (Finca Marilandia, San Pedro Necta), Octavio López Camposeco (Finca El Durazno, San Antonio Huista), Alejandro Laínez Sales (Finca Chejoj, San Pedro Necta. Each of these long-standing partners has stewarded their land for decades. They consistently produce high-quality coffees while investing in soil health, long-term planning, and peer-to-peer learning. They embody the values of Raíces: stewardship, shared knowledge, and vision. While the exact farms may change from year to year, Raíces remains rooted in quality (85+ cup score), transparency, and alignment with long-term sustainability. Raíces honors that mindset: when today’s roots are strong, tomorrow’s vision can expand.
Cup Profile: Sweet and tropical with floral highlights. Notes of guava, starfruit, cherry. Light acidity and a silky body. As it cools, it becomes slightly herbal with a clean, pleasant finish.
