Papua New Guinea, Timuza
Grown by smallholder farmers in the Eastern Highlands, this washed lot comes from family‑run “coffee gardens” where cherries are cultivated alongside food crops. Producers in the Timuza community use organic, low‑input farming methods, relying on traditional practices and the region’s rich volcanic soil.
Cherries are picked ripe, depulped the same day, fermented 24–48 hours, and dried on raised beds or tarps. The result is a clean, vibrant cup with soft Chocolate Malt notes, Macadamia Nut, and Dried Papaya
Remote terrain and limited infrastructure make coffee production in PNG uniquely challenging, but the dedication of these farmers shines through in every cup resulting in a beautifully expressive coffee rooted in community and place.
